Levi Barcourt, who began studying piano at age 8, garnered four piano competition scholarships by the age of 16. After graduating from the famed High School of Music & Art in New York, he attended the Hartt College of Music at the University of Hartford and then Purchase Conservatory of Music where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree as well as his Master of Fine Arts Degree. He has also toured Sicily, Rome, Messina, Genoa and other northern parts of Italy. Levi has also performed at some of New York’s most prestigious stages and world famous venues such as: Lincoln Center, Town Hall, The Apollo Theatre, The Schomberg Center and at Symphony Space, and has also played with Symphony Orchestras across the country such as: The Delaware Symphony Orchestra and the Carson Symphony Orchestra in California, just to name a few. He also created a String Quartet arrangement of Joni Mitchell’s composition “Both Sides Now.” It was recorded and arranged for rhythm section including piano and had a string quartet that drove the body and pulse of the song. He has also had the distinct pleasure of traveling around the world performing and mesmerizing audiences with his bravado style of playing. Performing at the famous South African Jazz Festival as a guest pianist for Bakiti Kumalo known for the famous “Graceland” Grammy CD), Mr. Barcourt’s composition “The River Nile” was featured and performed by the world bassist. Levi Barcourt has had the distinct pleasure of working with music icons and Multi– Grammy winning song writing legends: Ashford & Simpson. Levi was their pianist and Musical Director for several west coast tours including places such as San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, St. Thomas and Fox Woods Resorts. Levi performed their final west coast tour prior to Nick Ashford’s sudden passing. In addition to serving as pianist and Musical Director for Ashford & Simpson. Levi is also the pianist and Musical Director for Grammy Nominee and Tony Winner, Melba Moore
